Dementia In-Home Care
Caring for a family member living with a memory disorder is both rewarding and challenging. With limited help at home, caring for a family member with a memory impairment may sometimes be frustrating. If you or a loved one can benefit from additional care support at home, Accountable Home Care is here to help. Allow our patient care coordinator to assist you in creating a comprehensive care plan designed for cognitive engagement and supportive activities. A licensed caregiver referred by Accountable Home Care provides respite care, activities, companionship and personal care for proper hygiene. Incorporating a certified nursing assistant (CNA) to provide non-medical supportive care for an individual at home promotes quality of life and helps to maintain a person’s dignity.
Living with Alzheimer’s Care, Parkinson’s disease and Other Memory Impairments
As memory problems progress and symptoms worsen, dementia can often make daily tasks such as bathing and self-care such as personal grooming more difficult. Additional care support from a licensed caregiver referred by Accountable Home Care allows much needed emotional and physical support while maintaining privacy in a familiar, home environment.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, at least two of the following mental functions must be significantly impaired to be considered dementia:
- Memory
- Communication and language
- Ability to focus and pay attention

FAQ's View All
Can a caregiver assist my father with his medication?
A licensed caregiver can remind a patient to take their medication. Under the State of Florida LPNs and RNs are able to administer medication and provide medication management. A home health aide or a certified nursing assistant can only remind a patient to take medications. A CNA or HHA cannot even fill a pill box. Often times a family member fills pill boxes or a spouse and then the caregiver just reminds them to take the medicine as instructed by the doctor.
What home care services can a Home Health Aide offer?
“Home health aide” otherwise known as H.H.A. means a person who is trained or qualified, as provided by rule, and who provides hands-on personal care, performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, assists in ambulation or exercises, or assists in administering medications.

We retained Accountable during a very emotionally trying period in our mother’s life after she became very ill and could no longer live alone. Accountable provided services to our mother for approximately 1 year. Although it is very difficult to bring a caregiver into the home of a person who has been independent for her entire life, Accountable was very sensitive to our mother’s needs and concerns. They worked with us to find professional, qualified caregivers to care for our mother. We would recommend Accountable to anyone in need of professional, qualified and sensitive caregivers for part-time or full-time care.
