We retained Accountable during a very emotionally trying period in our mother’s life after she became very ill and could no longer live alone. Accountable provided services to our mother for approximately 1 year. Although it is very difficult to bring a caregiver into the home of a person who has been independent for her entire life, Accountable was very sensitive to our mother’s needs and concerns. They worked with us to find professional, qualified caregivers to care for our mother. We would recommend Accountable to anyone in need of professional, qualified and sensitive caregivers for part-time or full-time care.

FAQ's

What home care services can a Home Health Aide offer?

“Home health aide” otherwise known as H.H.A. means a person who is trained or qualified, as provided by rule, and who provides hands-on personal care, performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, assists in ambulation or exercises, or assists in administering medications.

Can a Companion help with self administration of medicine?

Home health aides (HHAs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) that are trained can only assist a client with medication in its previously dispensed, prescription labeled container or over-the-counter medication that has directions per State of Florida law. A Homemaker/Companion can only remind a client to take their medicine.

Can a Companion help with hands on personal care?

A: Companions often referred to as a “sitter” means a person who spends time with or cares for an elderly, handicapped, or convalescent individual. Companions referred to clients at Accountable Home Care are either licensed home health aides (HHAs) or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). Unlike an unlicensed individual, these caregivers are professionally trained and licensed to transfer and care for the elderly. The caregivers we refer have their Level 2 Background Check, current CPR certification, general liability insurance, driver’s license among other credentials required by the State of Florida.

Do the Home Health Aides (HHAs) or certified nursing assistants (CNAs) referred by Accountable Home Care know how to do CPR?

CPR is required for all caregivers referred by Accountable Home Care, Inc. by the State of Florida. Records of CPR training is maintained by our nurse registry. A copy of the caregiver's CPR card (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)(CPR) certification from an instructor or training provider that is approved to provide training by the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, or the Health and Safety Institute stays in the caregiver's file.
